CP MafB is expressed in Alpha cells but not in Beta and Delta cells in the adult pancreas. MafB was found in glucagon+ and insulin+ cells by E10.5 and E12.5.In contrast to the pancreas, MafB was expressed in essentially all pdx1+ cells along the villi of the duodenum at P4 and at lower levels in many Pdx1+ cells in the duodenal crypts. MafB expression is maintained in insulin- and glucagon- producing cells of ax4- and Pax6- deficient animals [3].
